CN GMD GP38-2 & GP38-2 (W) Comprehensive Sound & Programming Package
The GP38-2 & GP38-2 (W) has become the backbone of road switchers and yard jobs all across the CN system. Supported by the remaining fleets of GP9rms as well as GP40-2Ls, these units can be found all across Canada & the US in great numbers. This custom sound/programming package can be equipped on units right from delivery to present day, and includes a number of different options.
Custom sounds include the following:
8 different variations of a Holden K3L.
2 Nathan P series horns, for units outshopped in the US.
7 different bells, both electronic and GMD pneumatic bronze offerings.
3 different prime movers, all selected specifically to ensure prototype accuracy.
In addition to the custom sounds mentioned above, this package includes 3 separate sound files. Each utilizing a different variation of the same prime mover to add a little variety. That way if multiple units are to be programmed and run together, they don’t all sound completely identical. Please see the operating instruction text file included with this package for more information. It includes details on the sounds provided, as well as a full function mapping guide.
This package was created using an Athearn GP38-2(W) as a base, but is suitable for any wide or standard cab CN units offered by both Athearn or Atlas.
